- “‘If it does work, you could receive the signal 50 microseconds before you send it.’” Essentially, it’s a test of quantum entanglement.
- Power without wires. I’ve wondered about this for a long time. Radio waves are energy, too why not convert them straight to electrical energy? Because, it turns out, they scatter energy in all directions. So, instead, they’re going to use something much more fancy—so fancy, it seems, that it’s not unlike the technology played with by perennial Jeopardy question subject Nikola Tesla more than a hundred years ago. Scroll down to the bottom for a nice graphic featuring the unlikely caption, “People … not affected as not resonating at 6.4MHz.”
- Dolphins can “sing.” I can hear them now…”Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Spiderman, Spiderman.”
- A nice tone deafness test. It takes six minutes, and parts of it are quite difficult. My results: 83.3% correct, 76th percentile. Of the six I missed, five were guessed right by at least 65% of other test takers. This means either there’s some note or sequence that I just cannot hear, or, more charitably, that my tiny headphones in Panera just don’t hack it for delicate auditory testing.
