Rogen on Conan

DVRed Seth Rogen on Late Night. Felt rehearsed and not very funny, but some interesting facts:

  1. Rogen is 25. I would’ve put him on 32 or more.
  2. Rogen wrote Superbad at age 13.
  3. The lead role in the film was supposed to go to Rogen. But he looked too old to be in high school, so they gave it to one of his best friends, Jonah Hill. Hill, says Rogen, is 24.

Much more entertaining was Gary Vay-ner-chuk!, host of Wine Library TV. To wit:

GV: I ate cigars when I was little. That’s…what I did.
Conan: That has nothing to do with wine; you’re just…you’re just confessing odd things to us now.

GV explains, “cigars, tobacco, dirt” are things that people say are in wine. Moments later, Conan and GV are eating grass, sucking on wet rocks, and, most arrestingly, sucking down a cherry-dirt-tobacco concoction. GV explans, completely earnestly, “This is how you train a palette.”

UPDATE: Just finished the clip, and to train Conan’s palette for burgundy, GV wraps a sweaty sock around a stick of raw asparagus, and sort of gums it for a second.
